Honestly, if i never read the gamer when it was first release then read it at 2021, i would say no. Just like how Mushoku Tensei is the generic isekai, the gamer also generic gamer tag. It was fun and hype back then for me.

r/TheGamer: The Manhwa manifestation of every Gamers dream.
I had no idea what was happening in The Gamer anymore, so I re-read it and made a (not so short) summary. So here I am, like 7 (?) years after I started reading the latest The Gamer releases week after week, when I realized "I have no idea what the fuck is even going on here, and I'm not having a good time anymore".
It's story is... well, I wouldn't say bad outright, but there's nothing really good in it. The characters are simplistic, MC has no real depth to his personality, and his powers aren't even well explored (or rather, he randomly gains new powers whenever the author thinks it would be cool).
We will miss you, The Gamer. At least we got the other stories written by Seongsangyeong and drawn by Sang-Ah, and the many works they have inspired. Hope we get more in the future 🥳🥳🥳.
