I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that Katarina's old ultimate scaled with 50% bonus AD and her q was like 80-90%. Edit: found it https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Katarina/History#1st. Sinister Steel was added between versions 1 and 2 and also has/had an AD scaling.
sword of the occult sucked because the only champs that built it were rengar, talon, pantheon, etc. All the champs that built it were melee so you were so much more likely to lose the stacks. Leviathan because that shit was broken. You lost stacks by dying, but the stacks gave you HP, so it made it harder to kill you.
