Biografía. George Rochberg estudió en la Universidad de Mannes (en donde uno de sus profesores fue George Szell), y en el Instituto Curtis.Desde 1960 enseñó en la Universidad de Pensilvania, siendo presidente del departamento de música hasta 1968 y se retiró en 1983 como profesor honorario.También trabajó como director de publicaciones de las ediciones musicales.
