Far East Family Band was a Japanese Psychedelic-Progressive-Rock band that started out as Far Out in 1973, and changed names in 1975 to FEFB, which was founded by, among others, Fumio Miyashita. A certain Kitaro was added later as an extra keyboardist.

The Far East Family Band ( FEFB) formed in 1975. The band is considered one of the first Japanese progressive rock bands however co-founding member Fumio Miyashita was previously a member of the band Far Out.

Unlike other albums where the band focused mainly on ballads influenced by PINK FLOYD, on "Parallel World" they decided to merge the prog rock style of the time with electronic music in the vein of Klaus SCHULZE.
