List of elevator accidents. This is a list of elevator accidents by death toll. It does not include accidents involving gondola lifts, ski lifts or similar types of cable transport .
Elevators cause almost 90% of the deaths and 60% of serious injuries. Injuries to people working on or near elevators – including those installing, repairing, and maintaining elevators, and working in or near elevator shafts – account for 14 (almost half) of the annual deaths.

Workers in organizations with 10 or fewer employees comprised 33.8 percent of the fatalities. 35.2 percent of the fatally injured workers were younger than 35.
