En su origen, L.A.’s Finest fue un proyecto que Sony presentó a NBC, pero cuando la cadena no dio luz verde a la serie, tras producirse un episodio piloto, el estudio lo pasó a Spectrum, su propia plataforma de streaming.
Tras eliminar un cartel de droga en Miami y Cuba, la joven decide dejar atrás su pasado para entrar en el Departamento de Policía de Los Ángeles. En esta nueva etapa la acompaña Nancy McKenna, su nueva compañera y madre trabajadora que también tiene un oscuro pasado.
