Drama. Blue-collar worker Mike Fitzpatrick worked hard to raise his family in Flint, Michigan. His wife Maggie worked part-time as a waitress to help put food on the table for their kids: teens Sean, Jack, and Maureen and 10-year-old Max.

Buddy, a champion swimmer, has a mental breakdown after his coach father dies suddenly. The older Fitzpatricks try to help the young man with his grief but Buddy realizes things are forever different.
While Maggie and Mike head off for a weekend in an uncle's cabin, the kids prepare activities of their own: a party, a date and a wild guinea pig race. But all the chaos comes to a head when their parents return because Maggie's in labor.
