Lacey complains about his neighbor, the mysterious Mr. Malpas, who makes strange noises all night and is never seen.
Lew Daney, chief suspect in a jewel robbery and an ensuing murder, vanishes leaving no trace. Hot on his trail are two men - an ex-policeman and Daney's ex-partner in crime.
The Edgar Wallace Mysteries is a British second-feature film series mainly produced at Merton Park Studios for Anglo-Amalgamated. [1] There were 48 films in the series, which were released between 1960 and 1965. [2] The series was screened as The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre on television in the United States.
Between 1960 and 1964, 40 low-budget films were produced in Britain for the cinema screen (by Anglo Amalgamated) from the novels of crime writer Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace. These films were then sold to the US as a TV series, where they were edited down to fit into a sixty-minute time slot and broadcast as The Edgar Wallace Mystery Theatre .
