Kenneth Lane Thompson (born February 4, 1943) is an American pioneer of computer science. Thompson worked at Bell Labs for most of his career where he designed and implemented the original Unix operating system.

2 de may. de 2024 · Ken Thompson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1943. He received a BS (1965) and MS (1966) in electrical engineering and computer science from UC Berkeley. In 1969, Thompson and colleague Dennis Ritchie created the UNIX operating system at Bell Telephone Laboratories.
