Luis VIII de Hesse-Darmstadt (en alemán, Ludwig VIII von Hessen-Darmstadt; Darmstadt, 5 de abril de 1691- Darmstadt, 17 de octubre de 1768) fue el landgrave de Hesse-Darmstadt de 1739 a 1768. Sus padres fueron el landgrave Ernesto Luis de Hesse-Darmstadt y Dorotea Carlota de Brandeburgo-Ansbach.
Ludwig VIII. war der älteste Sohn des Landgrafen Ernst Ludwig von Hessen-Darmstadt (1667–1739) aus dessen Ehe mit Dorothea Charlotte (1661–1705), Tochter des Markgrafen Albrecht von Brandenburg-Ansbach.
Louis VIII (German: Ludwig; 5 April 1691 – 17 October 1768) was the Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt from 1739 to 1768. He was the son of Ernest Louis, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and Margravine Dorothea Charlotte of Brandenburg-Ansbach.

The Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt (German: Landgrafschaft Hessen-Darmstadt) was a State of the Holy Roman Empire, ruled by a younger branch of the House of Hesse. It was formed in 1567 following the division of the Landgraviate of Hesse among the four sons of Landgrave Philip I .
