Sher Shah Suri (Farid al-Din Khan; 1472, or 1486 – 22 May 1545), often referred to as Sultan Adil (The Just King), was the founder of the Sur Empire in India.

Sher Shah Suri, de nombre de nacimiento Farid Khan, también conocido como Sher Khan, fue un emperador fundador del Imperio suri en el subcontinente indio, con su capital en Delhi. Se rebeló y tomó el control del Imperio mogol en 1540. Después de su muerte en 1545, le sucedió su hijo Islam Shah.
Sher Shah was buried in the Sher Shah Suri Tomb (122 ft high), stands in the middle of an artificial lake at Sasaram, a town on the Grand Trunk Road. The tomb finished its construction on 16 August 1545, three months following the death of Sher Shah.

Sher Shah Suri (1486 – 22 May 1545), born Farīd Khān, was the founder of the Suri Empire in India, with its capital in Sasaram in modern-day Bihar. He introduced the currency of rupee. Sher Shah of Sur took control of the Mughal Empire in 1540.
