Sunan al-Kubra lil Bayhaqi, (Arabic: ٱلسُّنَن ٱلْكُبْرَىٰ لِلْبَيْهَقِيّ), or Al-Sunan al-Kabir (Arabic: ٱلسُّنَن ٱلْكَبِير) is a prominent and massive multi-volume Hadith book compiled, edited and catalogued by Imam Al-Bayhaqi (384 AH – 458 AH).
Al-Sunan al-Kubra by Imam al-Bayhaqi (384-458) remains one of the most extensive and impressive works on the Sunan. It was completed in 432 when the author was 48 and truly is a pinnacle of hadith and fiqh that amazes all who are familiar with it.

Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. al-Ḥusayn al-Bayhaqī (d. 458/1066) was a Shāfiʿī jurist and an Ashʿarī theologian who worked extensively in the field of ḥadīth. His greatest contribution was to provide a scriptural underpinning, namely from the ḥadīth, for the doctrines of the school of law associated with Muḥammad b. Idrīs al-Shāfiʿī (d. 204/820).
Q: I would like to know if the teachings and Hadith of Imam Abu Bakr Al-Bayhaqi are true and authentic? More specifically, I would like to know how authentic is this hadith: Sunan Al-Baihaqi, Hadith Number 12102. A: It is better for you to study the usool of hadeeth and thereafter refer to these hadeeth kitaabs.
