John Olof Norquist (born October 22, 1949) is a retired American politician, urbanist consultant, and author. He served as the 43rd mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, winning four terms (1988–2004). He previously represented Milwaukee's south side in the Wisconsin State Assembly (1975–1983) and Wisconsin Senate (1983–1988).
John Norquist is a former mayor of Milwaukee and a leading advocate of New Urbanism, a movement that promotes walkable and livable cities. He is the author of The Wealth of Cities and a speaker at the Designing Cities Conference.
