Philippe Kieffer MBE MC (24 October 1899 – 20 November 1962), capitaine de frégate in the French Navy, was a French officer and political personality, and a hero of the Free French Forces.

Philippe Kieffer est né en Haïti en 1899 et a rejoint les Forces navales françaises libres en 1940. Il a formé et commandé le 1er Bataillon de fusiliers marins commandos, qui a participé au débarquement de Normandie et à de nombreux raids sur les côtes occupées.
Philippe Kieffer Biography. Philippe Kieffer was born on October 24, 1899 in Port-au-Prince. Her family came from Alsace and it was after the annexation of Alsace-Moselle in 1870 that she moved to Haiti. His studies made him return to the metropolis: he studied in Paris and graduated from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (H.E.C.).
24 de oct. de 2023 · Four days before Christmas, 2011, 38-year-old ESA engineer Philippe Kieffer died by suicide at his home in Leiden, the Netherlands. Twelve years later, his family is still fighting for justice, and looking for answers about the alleged bullying and harassment that led to this tragedy.
Author. English. On June 6, 1944, 177 men under the command of Philippe Kieffer landed in Normandy within the British beach section called Sword. The “Kieffer Commando” was the only French unit to be engaged that day in Operation Overlord.
