Steve Double was appointed as a Government Whip (Lord Commissioner of HM Treasury) in October 2022. He briefly served as Under Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs by Boris Johnson in July 2022. He was dismissed by Liz Truss when she became prime minister in Septembe 2022.
