Rowland Hazard III (October 29, 1881 – December 20, 1945) was an American businessman and member of a prominent Rhode Island family involved in the foundation and executive leadership of a number of well-known companies.
Rowland Hazard died of a coronary occlusion, (a heart blockage) on Thursday, December 20, 1945, while at work in his office at Bristol Manufacturing. He was 64.

In attempt to receive a psychological release from his chronic alcoholism, he boarded an ocean liner, in 1926, bound for Zurich, Switzerland hoping to find a method of release from the famous Dr. Carl Jung.
In 1885, a well-known textile industrialist and philanthropic family from Rhode Island led by Rowland II and Margaret Hazard, were vacationing in Santa Barbara and decided to purchase property here to build a winter home.
