Kelly Diane Willis (born October 2, 1968) is an American country music singer-songwriter, whose music has been described as alternative country and new traditionalist.
Their forthcoming, six-song EP, Wonder Women of Country: Willis, Carper, Leigh, was recorded at Bismeaux on the Hill in Austin, TX in December of 2023. It features two songs by each artist, including a couple of Carper/Leigh co-writes, and one reimagined John Prine tune.
Kelly Willis is Back Being Blue, to take a color-coded cue from the title of her seventh album. It’s a shade she wears well, though long-patient fans might just say: You had us at back. They’ll take a new Willis record in whatever hue it comes, now that it’s been 11 years since her last solo release, 2007’s Translated from Love.

Kelly Willis was born on 1 October 1968 in Lawton, Oklahoma, USA. She is an actress and writer, known for Thelma & Louise (1991), An Unfinished Life (2005) and Bob Roberts (1992). She has been married to Bruce Robison since 20 October 1996. They have four children.
