Solefald (en noruego, ocaso, literalmente caída del sol) es una banda de black metal avantgarde noruega formada en 1995 en Oslo por Lars Are Lazare Nedland (voz, teclado, sintetizador y percusión) y Cornelius Jakhelln (guitarra y bajo).

As stated by Lazare, "solefald" means "sunset" (or, literally, "the fall of the sun") in Old Norse; they took the band's name from a painting by the Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen with the same name.
Solefald is a Norwegian avant-garde metal/black metal band that was formed by members Lars Are "Lazare" Nedland and Cornelius Jakhelln in August 1995, with Nedland singing and playing keyboard/synthesizer/piano and drums, and Jakhelln singing and playing guitar and bass.

SOLEFALD (meaning "sunset" in Norse)is an Avant-Garde Progressive/Post-Black Metal two-man project, featuring Lars "Lazare" Nedland (also known for his work with AGE OF SILENCE, BORKNAGAR and WINDS, amongst others), handling vocals, keyboards and drums, and Cornellius Jakhelln (Sturmgeist) on vocals, guitars and bass duties.
