En cierta ocasión, al salir de trabajar, un desconocido intenta robar el bolso a Iris y Stanley la ayuda a perseguir al ladrón. A partir de entonces se establece una relación entre ellos y cuando Iris descubre que él no sabe leer decide enseñarle.
