During the Great War, Jack Clark, a songwriter in love with chorus girl Flo Thompson, enlists in the Army and is sent to France where he meets Madelon, a little French singer who falls madly in love with him. Jack is wounded in combat and loses the use of his right arm; returning to the United States, he is jilted by Flo and becomes a derelict.
