Brief Synopsis. Henry Haskell (Eddie Bracken), owner of a hard-scrabble farm near Badger, Oklahona, thwarted in love and through with women forever, strikes oil while digging for water and becomes a millionaire. He heads for New York, with $50,000 in his pocket, to fulfill his lifelong ambition of seeing Grant's Tomb and riding the subway.
