Alastair James Stewart OBE (born 22 June 1952) is an English former journalist and newscaster. Stewart joined Southern Television in 1976, then joined ITN in 1980, where he served three years with Channel 4 News and went on to become a main newsreader with ITV News.

10 de sept. de 2023 · Why you can trust Sky News. Former newsreader Alastair Stewart has revealed he has been diagnosed with dementia, after suffering a series of strokes. The 71-year-old journalist, who has appeared on TV screens for nearly five decades, said he began to feel "discombobulated" around "six to nine months ago," and so went to see his doctor.
The veteran broadcaster, who has worked for ITV and GB News, announces his departure from daily live shows after 47 years on TV. He will continue to contribute to GB News for special events such as the King's coronation.
