Peter Vivian Daniel (April 24, 1784 – May 31, 1860) was an American jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.

Succeeded by. Samuel F. Miller. Peter V. Daniel, a staunch Jeffersonian, was known for his unwavering convictions while serving on the Court. Daniel was born on a farm to a respected family in Stafford County, Virginia, on April 24, 1784. He attended college at Princeton in 1802, where he stayed for one year before moving to Richmond.

Justice Peter Vivian Daniel joined the U.S. Supreme Court on January 10, 1842, replacing Justice Philip Barbour. Daniel was born on April 24, 1784 in Northern Virginia. He briefly attended the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) but returned to Virginia to study law.
