Peter Patzak (Viena, 2 de enero de 1945 – Krems an der Donau, 11 de marzo de 2021 [1] ) fue un director de cine austríaco, artista interdisciplinario que se dedicó al cine después de estudiar historia del arte, psicología y pintura.
Peter Patzak (2 January 1945 – 11 March 2021) was an Austrian film director and screenwriter. He directed 60 films from 1973 to 2021. His film Kassbach – Ein Porträt was entered into the 29th Berlin International Film Festival and his film Wahnfried was screened out of competition at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.

Peter Patzak (1945-2021) made Austrian TV history by creating the legendary satirical crime series Kottan ermittelt (1976-84) together with author Helmut Zenker. He was a prolific director working for both TV and cinema, first achieving international acclaim with Kassbach at the Berlinale 1979.
