John Paul Chase (December 26, 1901 – October 5, 1973) was an American bank robber and Depression-era outlaw. He was a longtime criminal associate of the Karpis - Barker Gang and most notably Baby Face Nelson who later brought him into the John Dillinger gang.
John Paul Chase was a liquor smuggler and a close associate of notorious gangster Lester Gillis, alias Baby Face Nelson. He helped Nelson escape from prison, participated in bank robberies and shootouts, and was killed by the FBI in 1934.

John Paul Chase was a liquor smuggler and a member of the Dillinger gang. He worked with Baby Face Nelson, a notorious bank robber and Public Enemy No. 1, until he was killed in a shootout with the FBI in 1934.
After a brief stay, he moved to Sausalito, California, where he met John Paul Chase. Chase was involved in a liquor smuggling operation with underworld connections. Nelson soon began to work with Chase as an armed guard for the truck transporting liquor illegally.
