Georg Thoma ( German pronunciation: [ˈɡeːɔʁk ˈtoːmaː] ⓘ; born 20 August 1937) is a retired German Nordic combined skier and ski jumper. He won a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics, becoming the first non-Scandinavian athlete to do so, and was voted German Sportsman of the Year.
Georg Thoma, the uncle of Dieter Thoma, won the Nordic Combined gold medal at the 1960 Squaw Valley Olympics, the first non-Scandavian to win the event, and he added a bronze medal four years later at Innsbruck where he was the German team flagbearer at the opening ceremony.
