Stephen Douglas McMichael (born October 17, 1957), nicknamed " Mongo ", [1] " Ming " and " Ming the Merciless ", [2] is an American former professional football player and professional wrestler. He was a defensive tackle for 15 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily for the Chicago Bears.

The former Chicago Bears star, who has ALS, was hospitalized with sepsis and pneumonia. His family said he is improving and hopes to see the Hall of Fame induction.
