Comenzó a jugar tenis en la secundaria en 1980 y entró al profesionalismo en. 1985. Disfruta de golf y windsurf. En 1988 ganó su mayor premio en dinero con $300,634, con marca de 31-24 y llegando al No. 27 de fin de año, su primer final Top 50 tras estar 82 en '87.
