Russell David Johnson (November 10, 1924 – January 16, 2014) was an American actor. He played Professor Roy Hinkley in Gilligan's Island and Marshal Gib Scott in Black Saddle.

Russell Johnson was a versatile actor who starred in Westerns, Sci-Fi and comedy shows, most notably as "The Professor" in Gilligan's Island (1964). He also served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and received the Purple Heart for his injuries.
