Using Julie as a vital part of it latest attempt to do what ever it is trying to do. The 'Julie' that Miller interacts with is not the real Julie Mao who died before Miller could meet her. Even though he never met her he is in love. Even though 'she' is merely a tool of the protomolecule he is able to understand her.
Another point of interest is the fact that Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, Rodney Crowell and Julie Miller sing some terrific background vocals on this album. There were particular songs that really moved me because of the lyrics and the music.
