Marcin Cichy was appointed as President of the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) in September 2016 for a five-year term. Before joining UKE, he worked as Director of the Analysis Bureau in the Ministry of Digital Affairs.

Marcin Cichy from the Faculty of Organization and Management of the Lodz University of Technology received the first prize in the 15th competition of the Committee of Organization and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the best scientific work 2021-2022, in the doctoral theses category.
