Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese the only constant member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-1970s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann.
Historia. «Pink Years» (1970-1973) Edgar Froese, nacido el 6 de junio de 1944 en Tilsit (actual Sovetsk, Rusia) comenzó desde niño a tocar el piano. Estudió dibujo y pintura y creó su primer grupo en 1962 donde tocaba la guitarra pero su meta no era dedicarse a la música sino al arte.
One of the first official line-ups was: Volker Hombach (saxophone, flute, violin), Lanse Hapshash (drums), Kurt Herkenberg (bass) and Edgar Froese (guitar). In September 1969 the band had their first performance at a larger event at the Internationale Essener Songtage.
