Trio M Active since 2006, this all-star jazz collective with bassist Mark Dresser and drummer Matt Wilson has toured all around the world and recorded two critically acclaimed releases, The Big Picture (Cryptogramophone, 2007) and The Guest House (Enja/Yellowbird, 2012).
With her new record Hear the Light Singing, pianist and composer Myra Melford returns to a familiar ensemble and concept, digging in and unearthing more deeply evocative and thought-provoking music as she goes.
Trio M is the collectively led ensemble of Mark Dresser, bass, Matt Wilson, drums, and Myra Melford, piano. After several years of working together in different contexts and talking about forming a trio, Trio M performed their first gig at the Athenaeum in La Jolla, California, in January 2006.
