Falsifiers of History was a book published by the Soviet Information Bureau, edited and partially re-written by Joseph Stalin, in response to documents made public in January 1948 regarding German–Soviet relations before and after the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact.

Stalin's attempt to falsify the recent history of Russia can be illustrated in many ways, but the case of the Brest-Litovsk treaty negotiations is as good an example as any.
Throughout the post-war period the official Soviet narrative regarding the origins of the of World War II were largely based on a set of guidelines contained in a pamphlet ‘Falsifiers of History’.
The secret protocols that accompanied the pact, dividing eastern europe into German and Russian spheres of influence, were never mentioned in Falsifiers of History, and subsequently their existence was explicitly denied by Soviet historians. This picture of europe’s descent into war during the 1930s did not change very much after Stalin’s death.
