Semtex is the debut studio album by Matt Elliott, released under the moniker The Third Eye Foundation. It was originally released on Linda's Strange Vacation in 1996. The album was recorded on a 4-track recorder. Along with a mix of guitars, drum machines and noise samples, it features the voice of Debbie Parsons.
Elliott was a part-time member of both bands. He recorded Semtex, his first album under the name The Third Eye Foundation, and released it on his own record label, Linda's Strange Vacation, with the help of the fledgling Domino Recording Company. The next three albums were released on Domino in 1997, 1998 and 2000.

Then just to confound you further it levitates in a flang-a-pani spin cycle, gathers itself into a heady banquet of effect-driven melodies with thorny briars that rip at its delicate throat. This is one of Matt Elliott‘s best and I’m glad to say the rest of the album doesn’t hide behind its shadow.
