Killing Joke is the debut studio album by English post-punk band Killing Joke, released in October 1980 by E.G. via Polydor Records. It debuted at number 41 on the UK Albums Chart on 25 October 1980 and later peaked at number 39.
Part of the album's directness, though, has to do with the drummer who played on it: Dave Grohl. Having been in the lurch with drummers, the band decided to lean on some of their famous fans for 2003's Killing Joke .
This hiatus lasted nearly seven years, but it ended with a bang. Since returning in 2003 with a self-titled album featuring Dave Grohl on drums, Killing Joke have been on a creative hot streak.
