John Avila (born January 14, 1957 in San Gabriel, California) is an American bassist and music producer. He is perhaps best known as the bassist of the Los Angeles based New Wave band Oingo Boingo from 1984 to 1995.
After the break-up, Avila built the ‘Brando’s Paradise’ recording studio and launched his career as an independent record producer, mixer, engineer, and session bassist/vocalist. His producing credits include Food For Feet, Reel Big Fish, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Neville Staple and Quetzal, among others.
