Shaad Ali started his career as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam, and assisted him on the film Dil Se.. (1998). He made his directorial debut under Yash Raj Films and Madras Talkies, with Saathiya (2002), starring Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji.
Shaad Ali was born on 1 January 1970 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. He is a director and actor, known for Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007), Bunty Aur Babli (2005) and Soorma (2018). He is married to Aarti Patkar.
