The Koobas were an English beat group from Liverpool. Their music, and their early history, is similar in some ways to that of fellow Liverpudlians The Beatles, though they never achieved widespread popularity.
The Koobas. Originally known as The Kubas , The Koobas began in Liverpool in 1964. The following year they moved to London where they joined Tony Statton-Smith's management agency. A trip to Hamburg, a deal with Pye and a tour with The Beatles followed before the quartet signed with EMI in 1966.
