The band was formed in 2001 by drummer John Alfredsson and guitarist Jonas Jarlsby, who at the time were in separate bands. After several lineup changes, the band released two four-song EP demos in 2004: Personal Observations released on 18 January 2004 [3] and 4 Reasons to Die on 19 November 2004. [4]

9 de feb. de 2018 · When avatar guitarist Jonas Jarlsby added the word “Kungen” (“King” in Swedish) to his social media account, he had no idea that the move would inspire the band to create Avatar Country, their most ambitious concept album to date. Unlike 2016’s dour Feathers & Flesh, the new album is an upbeat romp about the citizens of a wild kingdom.
The band features Ibanez Artists Jonas Jarlsby and Tim Öhrström, and in 2020, they released their 8th album, a bold manifesto called Hunter Gatherer. The album furthers the reach of their always expanding dark roots.
