Kim van Kooten (born 26 January 1974 in Purmerend, North Holland) is a Dutch actress and screenwriter. In international cinema, she is best known for the 2003 Dutch/US co-production Phileine Says Sorry , filmed partly in New York City , in which she plays the lead.

Kim van Kooten was born in Amsterdam. She made her debut in the film _Little Sister (1995)_. For her part she got a Best Actress nomination at the Dutch Filmfestival. It was her breakthrough as an actress. One year later, she made her debut as a screenwriter.
