S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. The roots of the Newhouse School are found in Syracuse University’s former School of Journalism, which was founded in 1934. In 1934 SU became the first university in the nation to offer a college credit radio course.
Dubbed the Newhouse Studio and Innovation Center, the new space was dedicated in 2014 with special guest Oprah Winfrey. In 2020, the Samuel I.
