K ronomyth 2.0: I AM URE CONSCIENCE. Following the breakup of Ultravox, Midge Ure surprised no one by releasing a second solo album, Answers To Nothing. This one featured a duet with Kate Bush (“Sister And Brother”) and lots of DIY electronic songs that used polyrhythms and sang of global peace and love (“Dear God,” “Hell To Heaven,” “Remembrance Day”).

He recorded 10 solo albums and EPs between 1982 and 2009, and he played on two key albums with Gary Numan, Dance (1981) and I, Assassin (1982). He also played on the short-lived Dali’s Car project with Bauhaus singer Pete Murphy, and on several collaborations with experimental musicians including David Torn, Gavin ...
With a little help from Craig Armstrong, Mark Brzezicki (Big Country), Mark King , Mick Karn (ex- Japan) and others, Answers to Nothing became a much more mature affair than his first solo album The Gift, which nevertheless had been a nice try and had had its moments.
The second studio album, Answers to Nothing (1988), reached the UK top 30. It featured a duet with Kate Bush called "Sister and Brother", and the single "Dear God", which helped Ure gain his first foothold with American audiences.
