Crenshaw, or the Crenshaw District, is a neighborhood in South Los Angeles, California. In the post–World War II era, a Japanese American community was established in Crenshaw. African Americans started migrating to the district in the mid 1960s, and by the early 1970s were the majority.

Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw is a neighborhood in the south region of the city of Los Angeles defined by the Mapping L.A. project of the Los Angeles Times in 2009. [1] . It combines the upscale, principally home-owning Baldwin Hills residential district to the south and the more concentrated apartment area of the Crenshaw district to the north.
In total, four new acres of cultural open spaces will dramatically repair, revitalize, and sustain the Crenshaw Corridor – The most important commercial corridor in South Los Angeles, the most iconic Black business corridor in Los Angeles, and the heart of the largest Black community on the West Coast.
