Herman (or Hezelo) of Ename (died 28 May 1029), was a count in what is now Belgium, who was responsible to the emperor for holding the frontier fort at Ename (sometimes spelled "Eename") in the Pagus of Brabant, which faced the County of Flanders in the Kingdom of France.
Although Godfrey of Verdun was officially in charge of the site, in reality, it was most probably his son Herman of Ename who was in charge, as his father was imprisoned in 989 and released from captivity only in 995.

The Saint Laurentius Church of Ename was built shortly before the year 1000 by Herman, Count of Verdun. The only Ottonian building surviving in Ename, it is today the parish church of the village.

Reginar V of Bergen (Mons) took procession of Ename and his son Herman I of Bergen rebuilt the fortress in 1040. However, he swapped the northern part of the pagus with Count Baldwin IV of Flanders in 1047, together with that of the Brabantine territories as far as the river Dender.
