Brainiac (also stylized as 3RA1N1AC ), is an American indie rock band from Dayton, Ohio. It was formed in January 1992 by Tim Taylor, Juan Monasterio (Monostereo), Michelle Bodine and Tyler Trent. They disbanded after the sudden death of lead singer Tim Taylor in a car accident on May 23, 1997.
Though she would leave the band shortly after the release of Smack Bunny Baby, founding guitarist Michelle Bodine contributes vocals on “Martian Dance Invasion” as well as providing seething guitar work throughout the album.

Guitarist Michelle Bodine, a Trotwood resident, has never been in a band before (you couldn’t tell it from her playing, though). As far as I know, the newly formed Brainiac has yet to grace Cincinnati with their presence.
