JAN HAMMER's musical career has been based firmly on developing the classical, jazz and rock repertoire. Following his Berklee period work in the jazz field, he became one of the founder members of the MAHAVISHNU ORCHESTRA, one of the most successful jazz rock groups of the early 70's.
He then joined Di Meola for a tour chronicled the same year on Tour De Force - Live; and finally appeared throughout Scenario, using a Fairlight CMI digital synthesizer and contributing to more than half of the album's compositions.
15 de ago. de 2018 · Before the music of synthesist Jan Hammer hit the mainstream with his soundtrack for the hit show Miami Vice, he was best known as a fusion jazz keyboardist. He collaborated with jazz guitarist Al Di Meola on a series albums in the 80s, which offered a preview of Hammer’s later Miami Vice work.
