Police discovered Quentin Hubbard unconscious in his car in Las Vegas on October 28, 1976, without any identifying documents. Although a hose connected to the tailpipe was found in the car's window, a test for carbon monoxide was negative. L. Ron Hubbard was furious at the news, shouting, "That stupid fucking kid! Look what he's done to me!"
Quentin Hubbard was the son of L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of scientology. He died in 1976 under mysterious circumstances while working as a cramming officer at Flag, the scientology headquarters in Clearwater, Florida.
Hubbard suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident on the island of Tenerife in December 1973. In 1974, Hubbard established the Rehabilitation Project Force. Quentin Hubbard reportedly found it difficult to adjust and attempted suicide in mid-1974.
