Sir David Bowes-Lyon KCVO (2 May 1902 – 13 September 1961) was the tenth and youngest child and the sixth son of Claude Bowes-Lyon, 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, and Cecilia Nina Cavendish-Bentinck. David Bowes-Lyon (1902-1961) was the sixth son of the 14th Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne and the brother-in-law of Queen Elizabeth II. He worked in the Ministry of Economic Warfare and the British Embassy in Washington during World War II.
