Over a summer hiatus in 1966, Stuart Brotman effectively left Canned Heat after he had signed a contract for a long engagement in Fresno with an Armenian belly-dance revue. Canned Heat had contacted Brotman, touting a recording contract which had to be signed the next day, but Brotman was unable to make the signing on short notice.
Stuart Brotman was born on 27 February 1966 in Rochester, Minnesota, USA. He was an actor, known for Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown (1977), It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown (1976) and You're a Good Sport, Charlie Brown (1975). He was married to Elizabeth Brotman. He died on 29 January 2011 in San Francisco, California, USA.
